Corned beef hash......how do you make yours?

Few years back, was visiting Angkor Wat in Cambodia, and staying in the nearby town of Siem Reap. Anyways, was in a bar, and all around were these knackered looking fellas all sweated up and disheveled, and one of them asked me was I a hasher. I replied in the negative, thinking in was some kind of drug reference. Later, found out that they were all Hash House Harriers, just back from a charity run.
Must admit, felt a bit of a fool afterwards. Nothing to to with corned beef hash either

I honestly never knew people still ate this, I thought it was something that was eaten during war time and that's it.
It sounds absolutely revolting.
