Pending the OP's answer . . . (he goes away to count carefully)
You can put a 52 on instead but then you'll need to change to a 36 for your smaller ring. A 16-tooth jump is the most a front derailleur can handle.
You could also swap out your cassette for one with an 11-tooth sprocket, if you currently you have a 12-tooth sprocket. Note that a 50-11 will give you a bigger gear than 52-12. A 50-11 would give you 43mph at a cadence of 120 (spinning out time).
thanks just wanted to ask the question as i hardly ever use the smaller front gear even when climbing not going to lie am abit confussed i will keep reading and hopefully i will understand more in time lol

Unless you have an 11t smallest sprocket already, the easiest way to meet your perceived need 'for speed' is to change the cassette for one with an 11t.
Something like this (I'm making the assumption it's 10 speed). Neither the front nor rear derailleurs will need changing and nor will the chain. And you'll be able to go 8+% faster at the same pedalling rate (cadence). Since you don't go up hills much, the 25t large sprocket should be enough. Other cassettes are available.

If you are meaning you run out of gears downhill, I find it faster not pedalling at all after a certain point downhill. So that's a free upgrade. If you are meaning on the flat, give team sky a call.

i ride a cinelli with a 50(200mm) tooth crank i often find i run out of gears on fast sections is there i higher crank and is it easy to change only really got into bike this summer any help much appreciated

The only change you can make to your current set up is to swap the chain rings for 52T - 36T , leave the rear cassette as is.

@User13710 do I qualify for a TMN award? Your judgement please.

Just now
to spin out a 50/11 combo you need to be doing about 46mph.
@User13710 do I qualify for anorther TMN award? Your judgement please. Or perhaps this could degenerate into a discussion on spin-out cadences.
What for ? picking up on other peoples minor errors, so I didn't read every answer to the op...........big deal.
Steve - Don't think you've grasped the philosophy behind TMN awards. Whose minor errors have you picked up on? Your post was absolutely correct. BZ.
