I'm sure they are good but the frame welds are just so ugly, something you might see on a mail order MTB. If you can live with that go for it. For comparison look at a Boardman.

I've had a Peloton Pro (2013 model) for around 6 months now and I really like it. It's my first road bike and I delight in the way the thing handles. Mine's a triple and I've swapped the seat for a Charge Spoon but that's just a personal thing. I'm not superfit but it feels like it charges up the hills (we have some real buggers round here).
My wife's just bought an Axial which is basically the women's Peloton. She's new to road biking but beginning to get her head around it.
I think they're nice bikes. The weld thing's purely superficial (I never noticed 'til it was pointed out on here).
I reckon they nicely designed and good value. 'Specially like the internally routed cables.
I have a MTB and a tourer too but love using the Cube for fitness and fun.

thanks Geoff
I m fairly new to road bikes about 4 months now I have a Carrera tdf its been ok no problems with it
but I do a lot of miles now(not quickly) and want something better everything on the Carrera is typically low end
The spec on the cube s is much better, then again my bike was relatively cheap and you get what you pay for.
I will make a decision in the next week
regards
Glen

The weld thing is purely cosmetic, why they can't smooth them I don't know, maybe the money goes into better components. Just a bit of advice, buy product not discount.

the cube has a great reputation, can't say much more my self sorry
what ever bike you settle for you will love it no doubt but if you are buying brand new then yes ti is worth trying to test ride a few different ones
oh and remember, make the frame the priority as in buy a bike with the best frame possible as upgrading components is easy and cheaper than buying a whole new frame and upgrading that
Cheers Ed

2014 cube peloton pro compact. Tiagra/105 mix. £649 @ cycle surgery.

I am also looking at the pelotons, with a view of buying on the C2W scheme, the SL is favourite at the moment, but I do like the 2014 colour scheme, any cube owners help appreciated also. ( I know some have replied in another thread, thank you. )

Regards
Tony.

The majority of manufacturers don't spend/time money of grinding down and/or filling the welds on ali frames, so don't get too hung up over it.

I've had a peloton since 2011, and it's been faultless over that time. It's now running an 11 speed 105 groupset, and it keeps getting better

I was tempted by a Cube a couple of years ago but the lbs was owned by a complete arrogant ignorant twat and after a bit of further research I heard (at the time, don't know about know) that Cube had serious issues when it came to customer service/ timely replacement if anything was found to be wrong. In the end I bought a Rose, finding then to be slightly better specced and one hell of a lot lighter £ for £, they also allow customisation at build.

The peloton SL posted by toeknee looks a nice bike but having said that for an extra £90 you could get one of these with full Ultegra and over 1KG lighter.
