Hello all,
in my search for a my first road bike ever I came across those brands Cube and Scott ( their frame warranty is 5 or 3 years)
Compare to Dale, Trek, Giant and Specialized who have lifetime warranty
if somebody owns them who can give me feedback on them
Thank you

With regards to honouring frame warranties?

I've had 2 x Cubes as well, first one got nicked so upgraded to another higher spec one because I liked it so much. They tend to be more endurance based rather than out and out speed bikes, but it depends on which model you go for.

I’ve not had a cube nor Scott but I really never loved any of the Specialized, Trek, Dale or Giant bikes I’ve had...just not exciting (only one of the Giant was drop barred). I’d not buy one from any of those brands again I think (I’d possibly consider a Trek as they do the best colours!)

The SL was my first one, when I got the insurance, I upgraded to the GTC SL disc with Ultegra rather than 105, changes are a little smoother but not by much. Managed to get a 2018 model with £500 off at the time so a bargain. I would defo get Cube again. I'm not a racing snake, go out 2 or 3 times a week if I can, anywhere between 20-50 miles and no issues with comfort.

I'd never consider any of the big 4 of volume shifters and much prefer the 2nd tier (and lower) manufacturers which would include Cube and Scott amongst many any others.

I've had 5 cubes and they've all been better specced and better value than the equivalent offerings from the big 4. Scott is one that would be near the top of my possibles if (and when) I'm in the market for another.

@tdcadillac - you're in Canada. Go local, have you considered Norco?

I got a Scott Scale 980 a couple of weeks ago and love it. But I had my last bike for 20 years and it came from Halfords, so I’m not really in a position to advise. The Scale seems a really good bike, though.

I was considering Norco Valence 105 but 2 things drove me away (5 years warranty and read that they more mountain bike specialist not road bike). I was only considering the big 4 because of their lifetime warranty.
Thanks for your feedback
