CX tyres vs Gator Skins

Put some Gator skins on my cx bike (which I mostly ride on the road) back in Spring and they have been excellent. Should I now put the cx tyres back on (Rapid Robs) for the seasonal change or should I stick with the gators?

Only occasionally probably. Just wondered what tyre would have best grip. Gator is slick, Rapid Rob is knobbly.

Self explanatory I would have thought. Best grip on a road surface would be the slicks. Best grip offroad would be knobblies.

Gator Skins if the primary function is road use.

I ran Gator Skins all through last winter on my road bike and they were spot on, never missed a beat.

Not sure what they'd be like off road though.

I actually think the Rapid Robs are slipperier than any of my 23mm slicks! They may just need to be ridden more to get rid of any dressing and newness?

I have Gator skins on my road bike.
Did a bit of off roading on it today, .
Went on a gravel path, hard packed sand, woodland path and some mushy grass.
Back wheel slipped on the grass but everything else was fine.
