Fantastic ideas all, thank you very much. We had a walk around Dodd Wood to see the Ospreys last year and wondered about biking.

Did the same in July, bit of a walk to the higher viewing point ain't it?
Then did one of the signed trail walks and saw them flying over the lake, was there ages watching them, really lovely.

Partly by me as a volunteer under the "Windermere Reflections" scheme.
Excellent! It was only part finished when I was last up there so I'm looking forward to cycling the full length on the new surface this year.

Coniston is my second home, spend many a week up there as a base for cycling and walking. And having the Black Bull with it's AMAZING beer just tops it off

aye.

I proposed to Mrs Black Sheep up in Coppermines valley (would have been on top of the old man but visibility was bad, raining and cold.

Made the mistake of going to the Sun to dry out instead of the Black Bull but we had parked up at the station, so walking up and down the hill didn't seem to make sense.

Managed to get up the old man a year later.

Only went in the Sun once and the service was dire and so have never set foot in there again. Been up the Old Man once and aiming to do it again in March

We were there too early to see them really, they said there was a female about and we saw the nest but not much more. Nice walk though - even pushing a pushchair up !

This is a pic I took at the time and a view of just how far away the nest is, I was walking up there thinking they would be visible with the naked eye
