All primary schools should have bikeability training on the curriculum.

I think that bikeability level 3 should be a mandatory qualification for drivers sitting their test. It will make most of them more aware of road conditions and make them better drivers around cyclists (hopefully).

Yes the OP must have done cycle training at school. What do they think of the training they got?

I took my cycling proficiency test in 1965 and passed with flying (is that the right word?) colours. It was just what a 9 year old cyclist needed as training.
The one I took in the 80s was full of plop like riding a foot from the edge of the road. Bikeability seems much better, based on the manuals. I may take a level 3 as a refresher one day.

I think that would be a hard sell to someone who never intends to ride a bike and has no interest on what it is like to ride one on a road.
I think hazard perception tests and reversing around corners would be a hard sell to most drivers but they're still in our driving tests. We need to sell it to the regulators not the candidates.
