Stick to their 70s stuff but avoid Too Old To Rock 'n' Roll... and apart from A Little Light Music, their 80s and 90s output was tiresome, and don't touch Thick as a Brick II with a bargepole!

Crest of A Knave was an excellent late 80s resurgence. TAABII wasn't good, but Anderson redeemed himself with Homo Erraticus.

Crest of a Knave sounded like a Dire Straights album, and not a good one... due to throat surgery, I believe.

Yes, throat surgery, but other than Said She Was A Dancer, which had full on Knopfleresque licks from Martin Barre, it sounded nothing like Dire Straits. Seen Tull and Anderson do Farm On The Freeway live several times, very pleasant indeed, and Budapest was a masterpiece.
