Question

We’ve just watched the JJ Abrams reboot (first film) on the '5Action' channel

When the young Kirk jumps out of the Corvette, as it drops into the canyon
Is it implied that it's the rift, caused by the Xindi attack in Enterprise?
(as Admiral Archers Beagle is mentioned by Scotty)

I've seen that many times, probably not implied. Its just that the Xindi cut a strip from Florida to Venezuela whereas Kirk grew up in Iowa (Star Trek 4: 'I'm from Iowa, I just work in outer space'). That's hundreds of miles in the wrong direction unfortunately. BTW, the guy with the clipboard when they try to get onto the Enterprise is Paul McGillion who played Scottish Doctor Carson Beckett in Stargate Atlantis. He auditioned apparently for Scotty but lost to Pegg. And in an odd co-incidence, he's a Canadian citizen (born in Scotland but emigrated aged 2) and so are James Doohan & William Shatner. And Strange New Worlds is shot in Canada as was Stargate.

Voyager is more or less responsible for Barack Obama’s presidency.

Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine) divorced her husband Jack Ryan when he refused to move to Hollywood with her after she got her part in Voyager. When Jack Ryan ran for senate in 2004 a lot of dirt from the divorce was brought up which caused Obama to win that senate seat in a landslide. That landslide victory is what gave him the momentum to run for president.
