I seem to have got something in my eye at the weekend so decided to pick some of these up today . I find its always best to address these issues after the event
They have black , red , yellow and clear lenses . I have the black and clear covered but what are the yellow and red ones for ? The instructions and google don't help .

Yellow for low-light and (surprisingly) they work well in the dark too. They enhance contrast. Don't ever wear them in strong sunlight, it's not pleasant.

Red - I'm not sure.

So kind of the opposite to the dark lens then ?

My google was more helpful saying the red improved contrast on cloudy days but can distort colours. I've never seen them or anyone wearing them.

I wear glasses whilst cycling, and my Yellow lenses are in constantly.
They do not effect your visibility noticeably, and as mentioned; it helps against the glare of headlights slightly.

And during the day, the yellow tint makes everything look happier on a grey morning

my mate once had some glasses that had the same stuff on them that eagles have on their eyes that protect them from sunlight. They weren't cycle specs (for driving) but they were yellow. I tried them on and the clarity was amazing.

I have some photochromatic oakley glasses. OK they were not cheap, but I bought them tax free in Andorra. Best glasses I have ever bought, great in full sunlight and no light conditions, in fact I don't even notice them changing.

I have a cheap pair from ebay which came with a zillion different coloured lenses. I only use the sunglasses ones and the yellow ones.
Has anyone tried cycling glasses with the prescription inserts? I normally just wear my contacts but fancy having a choice. They look like they might be really heavy so was wondering what people thought.

I looked at them at the cycle show, didn't like the look at all. When I'm ready to ride distances again, I shall be getting direct glazed ones. There are plenty around here who do have the inserts I think

Yes, I use some Tifosi ones. They aren't loads heavier, still comfortable, but it does push the main lenses a bit further away. I'm thinking about trying contacts next time to see how I get on.
