was up near london bridge Sunday so less busy that a normal commute day, had cabbie tell me in his words "just saying you should be in the cycle lane" my response "just aaying mind you own f**king business". I was in the cycle lane. Motorists now think since the introduction of cycle lanes that they mandatory has had self procliamed inforcer following me down the tooting horn and trying to push me off the road as I wasnt in cylce lane. Personally think cycling through london has got better over last decade. I see less people cycing in than 10 years ago and virtually nothing locally.

Recently biked between Kings Cross and Liverpool St Station, as part.of a tour. 1st time cycling in central London in 40 years. I/we were well impressed with the level of cycling infrastructure and how well used it was. Also pleasantly surprised at the much lower levels of motor traffic in general compared to back then.

"..as part.of a tour.." Meaning a group of you on an organised bike ride?

I haven't taken the tube for years (apart from the odd weekend trip with friends and family). Always go by bike.

I get totally cheesed off just _looking_ at the tube delays. Currently waiting at the station to pick someone up and there's an arfing delay.

No 4 of us going to Norwich for a cycle tour

Presumably using Norwich as a base and riding around Norfolk/Suffolk?
Norwich is my home city, I'll probably be near there again next May after completing LeJog.
Actually, come to think of it, I was going to leave the bike at a hotel near Paddington and next day take the tube to Liverpool Street then train to Diss and have someone met me there to go to Saxlingham for an over nighter, but I could ride to Liverpool Street and ride from Diss - it's only 16 miles to Saxlingham. Something to consider.

BBC News - Cycling in City of London rises by more than 50%

This is good news as long as it can be sustained.
I know few on here think that London is a dangerous place to cycle in, but I have cycled in and around London for decades without many problems. The motorised vehicles are often travelling at about the same speed as the cyclists.
Long may it continue. 🚴‍♂️
London’s cycling infrastructure has come a long way, and it’s nice seeing more people choosing bikes over cars. Totally agree — once you know the routes and keep your awareness up, it’s not nearly as dangerous as people think.
