Cycling in the Nottingham area

We have just booked a lodge here https://www.hoseasons.co.uk/lodges/redb ... odges-redl
I have no idea of the area and would like to ride a couple of hours a day.
Does any one live around here an can point me in the right direction (for a couple of nice relatively traffic free routes) so to speak ?

NCN route 6 passes thru that area, but it's not all tarmac, grab an OS local map and link a route together there are a shed load of quiet backroads, it's an excellent riding area.

Your right by Sherwood Pines I think if you want to hire a mtb and go completely traffic free.

Lots of great cycling roads in that area and a choice of terrain if you want to do that. I think I'd avoid the Ollerton roundabout but I've never cycled through it just sat in the queue many a time,
