Stunning film. I love the way it coneys the fluidity of group riding and - as a fat lad- how much easier it looks the further back you are!

Nice. Sure the pro races will be filmed like this in the future once the technology is better. No more choppers and motorbikes. Much cheaper and also safer.

Looks like a nice race - the pace was fast at the start! Even though there weren't many human spectators, the horses enjoyed it!

The shot at 5:50 was good, close up alongside the riders. How long before somebody has several drones stationed along the route to film the entire race and stitch it all together?

Lovely film. How do you do it? Where does the drone pilot go?
Do you need a pilot and a camera operator or does one person do both.
Do you need a co-pilot to watch out for telegraph poles, wires, trees and houses?

The TdF helecopter crews are superb, the way they match their movement with the peloton and use the surrounding landscape is a ballet. My mother couldn't care less about cycling but she loved watching the aerial tourist adds for La France profonde.

Also illegal in many EU countries, with laws being tightened later this year.

Legal in the UK if you have a commercial drone licence and comply with all the regs. Not legal if you are an amateur as you will be flying close to roads, property, etc etc. If you are not a commercial operator, don't even think about it in the UK, other than maybe on private land and on a small private scale.

Puts tin hat on.......(as a model pilot I have to comply with CAA regs, and they apply to drones too.)
