Cycling shoes smell of cat wee

I'd put them into the washing machine with a lot of powder and then tumble them on a low temp, obviously when my wife is out.

I have done this. It works.

I filed some old socks with charcoal and used to pop them in my boots when not using them. I used this to get rid of the smell of human wee in a room in a house I bought. Just bought a very large sack of charcoal and tipped it out. Week later the smell had gone completely.

I think it must be the glue or materials used in certain shoes. I used to get it with Adidas running shoes, but no problem with any others. Even if they were washed, it just came back.

Get them dry and put a couple of herbal teabags in them and they will smell scented. Yes it does work.

Use to get the same with the sons Nike football boots and no matter what we did they still smelt so we took tham back and swapped them for a different make as loads of his team mates had same issue but all had Nike boots

It's bacteria that's making them whiff. Spray them with a weakish Zoflora solution, throughly rinse, allow to dry.

I stuck my shoes in a bucket of warm water with soap and salt (usual kitchen salt). Let them dry outside, I don't do that newspaper stuff as I prefer fresh air to circulate around.

Just been told so dont blame me if it does not work , put backing soda inside dry cycling shoes and leave it there until you need them?
