I'd put them into the washing machine with a lot of powder and then tumble them on a low temp, obviously when my wife is out.
Yes, I've always put my training shoes into the washing machine, so I can't see why it wouldn't work with cycling shoes.

Following on from this, three pairs gone through the wash now. A lightly 'used' pair bought last week went in, then followed by my older shoes (both Shimano M089) which were grubby and a bit pongy. Both dried on the de-humidifier very quickly. Just decided the winter boots need a wash too - spent a weekend in them a few weeks back 'bog snorkelling' in places, so these really need a clean.
