You can specify how many days a week you can train and also how many hours each day in TR when you Build a Custom Plan.

Totally missed that - I'll look again. TR suggested I didn't start today (probably sensible) due to the Rouvying yesterday, so aim to start tomorrow.

Back to training after last weeks cold. Some tempo hill efforts to get me back into it.

My commute hoe must have triggered an adaption in my Trainer Road AI training plan and 2 x 20@92%; I had been down for something different with micro breaks. I got too many drop outs in power for some reason  My Garmin which displays 3s power went to 0w quite a bit and TR that records 10s power saw 30-50w drop every so often. the net result I was just below target

TR has just introduced a feature - where you can see your NP Power Duration Curve. I've never seen this before but remember asking my Coach once if such a thing existed. Interesting.

I keep on scrolling down to it and seeing crazily high numbers (there's no way I could hold +400w for 10minutes), only to realise its defaulting to NP and pulling stats from my VO2max/ anaerobic sessions 😂

Yep NP is a bit volatile at shorter durations. My Coach told me to ignore anything under 20 minutes and be sceptical of the rest

I had a low level Endurance workout in my plan today (Bald-1). I took it outside on my usual Conington Airfield loop. I don't have power on my winter bike so it was a Proxy on RPE. It was a right blustery day with would see a HR near or over 70% for 11-14 mph in one direction and under 60% for 20mph in the other direction! I strayed into Z2 a couple of times when I had drivers sitting behind patiently and not overtaking, where I felt obliged to up the effort.

A bit too under on some of my threshold efforts tonight I think despite being way over on my overs and over overall for my Under/ Over session tonight. Which lowered my predicted AI FTP by 1w. There was one or two ERG resistance drop outs at the start of intervals which saw me switch to resistance to rescue it, but overall I think the FTP drop was right. It could just be noise though

A low cadence SS workout (Eclipse -3) was in my calendar tonight. Although I probably didn’t need practice there!

I’m not sure what was going with my trainer tonight the resistance dropped out completely a couple of times and I had to up the cadence and resistance manually to stay on target

I'm just deciding if I want to do tomorrow's recovery ride on my good bike. If I do I'll have to top up the sealant but its been dry all day 🤫

After -2degC the other week, today's is +16 deg C and dry, so I got the good bike out for the first time this year. I only had an hour between meetings but given the 🌞 I was pretty keen to get out. In my calendar today was the Z1/2 Endurance ride Bess. I had to overshoot my estate access to get the main bit of the workout done but I only did 2 mins of the cool down to get back in time for my next meeting.

I never realised it was an early kick off in the Stuttgart v Celtic game and thought I’d get my training session. Finished to see 0-1 Celtic with 10 mins to go. I couldn’t believe my eyes, that must have been some endorphins from tonight’s session to have me hallucinating. It finished 0-1, we are out but it was probably the best way to do it. On to the analysis of tonight’s workout an Over/Under workout Kaweah Queen. Its was actually supposed to be a close to threshold, at threshold session but it did end up being a bit over for me. I was getting out reasonable cadence/power in the TT position and done all of the overs and some of the unders in it.

Was the low cadence prescribed (Unlikely for TR I think) your choice, or just how you felt on the day?
I tend to drop the cadence when I get tired, I'm not able to keep the cardio working, so move the load to the muscles - I understand it is not ideal, but my thinking is that I can also do this out on the road, and it's a form of strength training.

Re your power dropouts - what turbo is it, and by what means are you connecting?

I used to get occasional drop outs on Ant+, but since moving to bluetooth (Moved to virtual shifting so had no choice), and a mega cheap USB 5.3 dongle (On the end of an equally cheap 2m extension cable), it's been bullet proof.

Prescribed by TR, but my cadence tends to drop fast as I have to train in the house which is a little too warm and also me getting older.

I use a elite suito with Bluetooth control, power readings come straight off my assimoa pros though. I get enough resistance hang ups with the Suito, that I wouldn't trust it with power.

A rest week for me and its finally good weather so I'll take the Endurance rides outdoors 👍
