Endurance night in my plan and TrainerRoad served me up Pioneer-3 for what seemed like the 15th time so I used their 'Alternate' function to swap it for something which would have the same training effect. Variety is the Spice of Life.

It felt like I was spinning well but it was low ERG resistance.

I have the workout "James" today, which is a very regular one for me as well.

It’s Thursday, must be VO2 Max day. Hit a peak of about 94% max HR. Legs felt good, probably as I didn’t do a long ride yesterday (unlike last week 😂).

I don’t think I got it all out tonight on my bookended over/ under session, despite marking it as all out in the post ride survey. I tried electrolytes rather than my usual carb drink with caffeine thinking I’d be more tired for an early night but I feel more awake than ever. After marking it all out I got the fail survey so I put it down to nutrition. Another nutrition item was that the supermarket was out of bananas so I never got my pre ride banana sandwich.

FulGaz & Strava (just uploads the data from FulGaz) show the same numbers while Wattbike Atom shows a completely different set. I‘m lost as to how these apps work and measure things. Any inputs?

Was about to hit the 50 Km mark but the Gym had to be closed 30 minutes earlier as they are preparing for Fireworks on the 2nd of November. No cycling for me until the 6th (hopefully be done with moving houses) & get back to it.

AS you know, on indoor bikes you actually travel zero distance. Each app will calculate the "nominal" distance covered differently. Fulgaz presumably replicates a particular route, so it will take into account slowing down for climbing etc.

According to garmin, I went 74 miles on Thursday, whereas last winter the same setup and same inputs gave me typically 12-14miles. But according to Trainer Road I did 19miles, and that is typical of TR's more realistic calculation. Or is it, according to my closed front door I done 0 miles :okay:

I have a 2hr session today with 36 minutes of Threshold over/unders.

It will increase my Threshold PL (Progression Level) from 4.2 to 4.5. ...... TrainerRoad users will know what this means.

Woke up this morning to quite beautiful weather and as most folk on the forum will know it was unseasonably warm in the UK.

Thinking about the latest commute/ workout thread on another forum and the fact that I only had a recovery workout (Bald -1), I spent the whole day wishing I’d took better lights. More so at night, when I got to the station to find that all the trains had been off for hours because of a medical emergency. Fortunately, the train which was scheduled 30mins before the train I was wanting to get originally was the 2nd London train running and was 'only' 55 minutes late. So I wasn’t too late home, and whilst it had turned wet underfoot it was still unseasonably mild. So I thought I’d grab some lights and go out on the guarded commuter pictured above (and do the workout on RPE). A quick check of the Live Weather Radar convinced me otherwise though, it was about to turn very wet overhead. So trainer it was but I opted for a quick light set up which I can quickly dissemble and do tomorrows workout outside when I am WfH if its still mild and dries a bit.

On a separate matter - my good lady has just completed 2 weeks of the Zwift 6 week FTP Builder programme - and is loving it ^_^

It will be interesting to see what it does to her FTP by the end.
