It was AI Detection day on TrainerRoad and I was very pleased with the uplift from 257W to 266W. It is forecasting 268W in 28 days time.

VO2 Max Tuesday again. Session went well and with my new dual sided power meter pedals.

The AI coach has updated my threshold to 261W. Put me around 3.7W / kg based on last weigh in.

Because I had been training without power last 7 weeks or so it had been decaying my threshold. Last threshold before previous single sided power meter broke was 240W. I suspect increase is a mix of real threshold improvement perhaps 3%, and secondly now dual sided and single sided power underestimated my power by 6%.

Anyway things are moving the right way. Endurance tomorrow.

Endurance ride today. Out for 2.5 hours. Leg balance remains consistent compared to yesterday. Interestingly I deliver positive power on left side for a slightly longer arc than that of the right side (In terms of pedalling full circles).

Evening. Can’t even classify this as training except the little hill that I try to climb. Happiest moment of the day again when I got up 13.5% gradient today much to the annoyance of several car drivers. Lot was said after they rolled down their windows. Just ignored it and continued my merry way. There was another small ascent which I thought I could pedal away and was humbled half way. Gears got stuck and I had to push it up.

Went on a new route hence the longer duration & a few more miles covered.

Tried a slightly different route to do my active recovery ride (Lazy Mountain-1). I won't be going that way again the road was really broken and anything more than a recovery ride would be dangerous. I usually extend my commute to sub for a workout but it been hot and headwind so I saved it for getting back and did the actual workout.

58rpm is a very low average cadence, even for a lowish speed. Be kind to your knees!

I probably could have done without yesterday Fen Ride with it being a deload week. Combined with the fact that I got cold, so the 1min turns turned to circa 5 mins turns when we hit the headwind.

It was actually windier today. The Holme Road segments sums it up well. 140w Southbound got me 20.4mph and a comparable 137w Northbound got me 16.1mph.
