Dealing with Cyclists without lights

There are too many cyclists riding with no lights at night (IMHO).
How do we deal with them?

Some people say confiscate their bikes on the spot. The problem with this idea is many of those with no lights are little scripted who would just go out and steal another bike...So I propose anyone riding a bike without lights is shot on the spot. This would prevent the risk of them going on to steal a bike. It would also prevent them riding without lights.

If this scheme proves successful, then I would propose to extend it to motorists driving without lights, with badly adjusted headlights or a bulb out.

Now, I can hear you all objecting saying the police are too overworked to enforce these laws. That may be true, so I would arm cyclists to enable them to assist the police with this task.

Crime reduced, no increase in prison population, no need for legal aid or expensive trials and appeals etc.

What's not to love about this plan?

You must be, because it certainly isn't funny.

The joke works better if you say shot on sight.

You're welcome.
Crime reduced
Reduce crime by decriminalising unlit night time cycling.

I have a couple of band on rear lights on my bike, and if I see someone without a light, I patronisingly volunteer one.

I did this once, and it had a flat battery. I regret that occasion. skully.jpg

I'm getting in touch with confused.com...we see lots of people without lights, but no one sees the people with lights and hiviz..they're always the ones who get a SMIDSY....I'm going to wear a neon yellow and pink CanCan dress and cycle down the middle of the Tyne Bridge without any lights in the middle of the day to see if I get seen...(this may not actually happen, as the Tyne Bridge is part of the central motorway)

Was it as deeply unpleasant as this thread?
