When does stubble officially become a beard? Is it on an individual case-by-case basis or is it a standard amount of time? I am guessing it's the former and depends on colour of the hair and complexion, also how fast it sprouts.

Also, when it gets to a suitable level of bush, can you just use clippers for your head hair, to keep it in check or are special beardy clippers required?

It becomes a beard when it gets past the itchy stage, I just use scissors to trim mine.

That settles it: if you can sing with a squeaky voice and hair on your face you are either a BeeGee or a character from a Harry Potter novel. If you have hair on your face but DON'T have a squeaky voice - this is a beard.

I would say it becomes a beard when you see more hair than skin per unit of surface area. As corrected for the dip and strike of the hairs, naturally.

As previously, yes you certainly can. Be aware that head clippers may struggle with thicker beard hairs so you may experience some degree of pulling and yanking as the clippers struggle to slice through your manly growth.

Best thing about having a beard is not having to shave. I just trim mine with hair clippers once a month and I'm good to go. My boss did say I couldn't have one but I was off sick for 3 months (broken bones from accident) so I grew one and everyone was so glad to see me back no-one said anything.

I shave every two or three weeks when it is just becoming a beard, normally defined by being able to grab it or finding remains of food in it, hopefully not chicken legs:laugh: .
