Technology has always and will continue to march on. Some adopt it, some don't which goes to make us all different.

I'm all for the jet engine, because it goes three times faster.

I'm all for technology with a tangible benefit. E gears are lovely, light and sweet, but don't make my journey so much as one second shorter. I don't have week or injured hands, so have no medical or comfort requirements.

It just leaves me cold. If it gives you a semi then all power to you, but I'm not going to spend money on technology that doesn't bring me a benefit or gain.

That's how I could afford to retire short of 50.
