Standard compact 34-28.
You must have strong legs, I have a 30-30 on my Allez and 32-28 on the Giant and still struggle up hills.

If you're doing the Cingles, start early.
Drink more than you think you'll ever need and don't rush it.

Thanks, was your gearing more than adequate? I am planning on a 39-30 which is roughly equal to a 34-27, so not far off yours. I don't see the time limit as a limitation at all, but as you suggest, I am betting that dehydration will be the biggest enemy

Didn't use biggest sprocket. Just stand on the pedals frequently to ease the muscles.
VERY good meal the night before.
Good luck!!

On the final ascent from Sault, the temp was 34 degrees, although cooler (obviously) at the top.
Oh, you will need a windproof jacket, or at least a gilet for the descents, we did, for all three.

That's ace, and definitely on my wish list. I found myself moving the mouse on the screen to try and steer into the hairpins, I soon realised this had no effect.

Do cars go up the road, was it closed to cars - didn't see any on the vid.

The road is used by cars, but that descent was in the early morning.

we went up the mt.ventoux last thursday, weather was beautiful as in your video. we started at 6:40 from malaucene and were glad we did - it was hot even on the summit, didn't need any gilets for descending. managed 56.6mph at one point - my fastest on a bike. a great mountain to climb, and easy if you go at your comfortable pace.
