That brings back wonderful memories of 8 years ago when my son and I plunged down that very road. We stopped at the bar on the left at the bottom for some celebratory beers. PS. I bet your brakes were smoking at the bottom.

I don't think 48 mph is slow. Yes, we did hit that speed at times, but, why go so fast that you haven't an opportunity to admire the scenery too?

I meant the people who shot the video - they just seem to be meandering down. Personally I'd do my scenery-admiring from the top and then enjoy the ride. :-)

I don't think you understand. 'The people' you mention are my friends. We all descended largely together and we wanted to stay together. You see me go past the camera at 5.07, so I know very well the speed we were going.
Skilled riders can make things look easier than they are.
We did two other descents from Ventoux that day (the Cingles requires three ascents/descents in a day): the one to Sault was slower and the final one to Bedoin, was absolutely thrilling!!

I tend to take my time descending also: why cut short the fun? Although I have stated before on these fora that I enjoy the climbs more than the descents . Very nice video, @betty swollocks , and good sound track.

Dawn when we started from Bedoin - 0445 hrs. The descent to Malaucene i.e. this video, starts at about 0725 hrs.

I've been up and down Le geant de Provence many times, but only by motorhome. Big respect to those who do it 'properly'!
