Quite the opposite as I'm no longer face-to-armpit with strangers on public transport.

this. wifey gets more colds n sniffles than me and also now copes worse with the cooler temp i like in the house because i am out riding in the cool. kids are bout in the middle ,but much worse off than their peers who have the district heating banging away at tropical temperature.

If I have pushed myself hard in work and at weekend on rides for a few weeks then i have terrible friday legs

It's not been ideal. Might be due to a change of jobs a year ago where I now work int eh field so am in and out of the car/buildings every day meeting lots of different people.

I eat well, drink more than enough water, take vitamins. Getting very frustrated at constant illnesses but doctor just no help!! I don't exactly overtrain either, 5,00km is not a bit year and been ill twice since Xmas already now!

During the years I was a runner I had constant colds with really rough sore throats. I put it down to pushing myself to the limit. I've not had any problems when cycling. Maybe I'm a bit easier on myself in my old age

Do you let yourself recover from illnesses sufficiently before going back to work and exposing yourself to more viruses and especially before going back on the bike?

You take vitamins but do you also have a balanced diet with plenty of veg and fruit?

Yes to fruit and veg. Probably not great at recovering but a high intensity job that doesn't give me much chance

I expect that's your answer unfortunately. Take the time off to recover at least until you won't pass your bugs to others, colleagues will thank you
