Wouldn't you get more training value from your 'tempo rides' by having more air drag resistance rather than less?
Could you explain the benefits of that, because I cannot see any.

The rider's tyres would have less wear as the rider would travel a shorter distance for the same power output over time. Marginal losses.Could you explain the benefits of that

As an analogy, my kids are in swimming and they use 'drag suits' in training so that when they get into their racing suits on race day, they will feel that much faster.
What it does do if used too much is get you used to a slower stroke rate, which for speed is not a great idea.
I swim about 6 miles a week and use all types of toys, feeling faster and going faster are very different.
I think the POC is a slippery training road suit, not a full on race suit.I personally do not care for the idea of using drag suits in swimming, and when I am training on my TT bike, I like to be as slippery as possible (without getting into my skinsuit). Wearing clothing that drags is distracting from the kinesthetic awareness needed when I'm trying to focus on proper form. So if the OP wants to wear his suit in training rides I would understand the logic there. Myself, I would like to have a more slippery training suit without getting into my full on racing suit.

Personally i wouldnt want a skin suit for training rides . The main reason is lack of pockets for a spare tube and phone etc .
On a TT Its highly likely that someone will spot your in trouble as its not often you see someone carrying a bike wearing next to nothing with a pointy helmet on and cussing at everything at 7 am on a sunday morning on a duel carriage way .
Training rides are normally during the day when all of the nutters have woken up![]()
Actually would like to have that POC suit - pretty much perfect as a TT training suit. You can still carry a phone, have a place to put arm warmers or wind vest etc.
Very interesting. The final paragraph says it all, at Pro level. 7 secs is huge!

At Amateur level, with reduced power, would the effect be bigger or smaller?
I vaguely remember reading that aero gains are greater for those on the course longer. Will have to search about a bit more, for the context, as seems counter intuitive to me.I'm riding at roughly a 40 km/hr average so for me I doubt it would make any difference having a dimpled suit.
