How common is this? One brake pad lost all of its friction material on the way home last night resulting in no rear braking. Looks like a bonding failure as the pads were not worn down. I think I should contact Fibrax to see what they say.
that's never happened to me, but you do wonder what bonds the brake surface on to the pad.
Check your disks for damage as the exposed metal could damage the disks.

Yes, I would like to know from Fibrax their thoughts are as i still have the same pads in the front and some spares. I don't want replacements from them.
The spring was damaged so thanks for the advice I will need to check the rotor too.
