Nowt to do with IQ that's for sure - I just have a personal interest in politics, and used to lecture in areas the test touches on (constitutional stuff in essence), and was a voluntary advisor at a CAB on rights and benefits bits and bobs.

As a citizen test I'd say it was arse - can't see why/how a perfectly decent citizen would be expected to know most of that stuff, it's just irrelevant to everyday life. You may recall I asked for some questions from the honourable members of this board a while back, many of which I think were a lot more apposite. No promises mind...

Oh no it's real. My Russian mate is working toward it now, she let me look at the book, what a load of waffle it is! She is treating it as a language test pure and simple, if you can ready the book you will pass the test - but you do have to read it because it's not information that anyone knows or will be able to tell you.

I wonder if kids learn this stuff in the 'citizenship classes'?? We didn't have those of course so we are all bad citizens (expect for Noodley )

Good job I've been thinking for sometime of emigrating....

What a load of meaningless tosh. I don't want my country's citizens chosen on the basis of whther they can leanr stuff like that bu rote. I want them chosen on the basis of are they nice? Can they cook a decent meal? Would they hold a door open for someone? Can they work out when their music is too loud? If we could just get a proportion of the native born to that state, we'd be getting somewhere.
