Not anymore. Then again I only ever really used to drive somewhere to actually do something rather than just drive for the 'fun' of it.

Not anymore. I used to, to keep up the standard of my driving (used to teach advanced level driving, and still hold RoSPA Grade 1 advanced level driving) and I used to have a really nice car, but it only did 22mpg and I can no longer afford such frivolity... Now, I don't even have a car for 5 days of the week... so transport is my bike unless it is a weekend and the car we have now whilst it is OK, it is nowhere near as much fun to drive as my old car and I think I have just lost the desire to drive everywhere since we went off to (fail at) cycle around the world... There just seem to be more important things in my life now.

My wife drives our 53 plate focus we've had since new. We picked it up from the dealer with fumes in the tank and filled it up for £30.
That same fill up costs £70 these days.
The "let's drive out to the North Norfolk Coast" suggestions have stopped cos it costs a fortune. That sounds a bit sad and boring, it just seems like it's a better idea to have fun closer to home.

Gave up driving 18 months ago and gave my car to my youngest son. His need was greater. Don't miss it at all, rather the reverse actually. Thanks to not having the expenses of a car to run can afford to travel in comfort now and I just sit back and enjoy whether on coach or train....Bliss

Would quite often go for a drive round the Trough of Bowland just for the sake of it when I was younger. Had a Mk1 fiesta as my first car and it used to cost £14 to fill up the tank and I had a lot more disposable income as well. Now its very rare the car gets used for such trips.

I used to drive for enjoyment and did many trips across Europe before the kids came along in our old Skoda's (last one was 30 years old which was fun ! ) Nowadays we drive a 7 seater which is just a tool to run everyone around, do shopping runs and take us all on holiday.I have a 19 year old Skoda which I swapped for a box of Skoda memorabilia but for some reason, even though the car basically cost nothing, I do not have the interest to get it back on the road due to the usual factors that driving and cars are expensive and there are too many inconsiderate motorists around now that it is not a pleasure anymore.

Now and again., I quite like driving, but I mainly use my car for shopping 25 miles away as we live in the middle of nowhere.
