Does wearing a skinsuit differ much from wearing a jersey and bib shorts?

Do you ever wear a skinsuit when going for a ride?

If you're riding a high speed TT they make a difference but for general riding no and they're awkward for stops, probably don't have pockets and may be too restrictive. I wear one for a TT but I wouldn't want one for other rides.

I find a mankini gives the same aero advantages of a skin suit and you can just move the gusset to the side for a call of nature.

For an hour or two's training ride I often use to wear one, unfortunately the magic wardrobe has shrunk them all so it is the two piece now. I never do stops pub,s cafes or anything else when out for a ride and have never had a problem going to the loo with one on. It is about having the right length I found.

Skin suits are expensive. To save time and money i have had my entire body tattooed in Ineos team colours and I simply ride everywhere naked.

If you're riding a time trial and/or track racing they're helpful.

Otherwise they're a pain to get into / out of and have no pockets. Unless they're a 'racesuit'

Mine has pockets, and was cheaper than getting the club jersey+bibshorts pair.
I've worn it on audaxes, and on my biggest trolling ride...
