Do you like them straight or curved?

As any fule no, you can't fit a slice of ham and some cheese inside a curved croissant, I've lived three years in France so I no this. Straight is therefore best.

Croissants should be eaten as they come, with nothing of them, au naturel. I think it is an English obsession to smear things with other things.

I recall sitting in a cheap French hotel and being fascinated by how the French ate theirs. One guy was dipping his in his soup bowl size cup of coffee. It was good coffee too.
 
If croissants aren't crescent-shaped don't we have to call them something else?
Mutants?
 
....back from a late morning bike ride, and my thoughts naturally turn towards lost calorie replenishment.....

....what is not clear from the photo is a dash of HP sauce to further abominate the abominations. I must say they were rather delicious......

Warm, flaky, buttery and nothing on them please. And they have to be curved to remind us of kicking the Ottomans out of Europe in the 15th century.
