I reckon they're a good backup...

Every so often, I check to see what's behind...

Tho, NEVER turn on a look in the mirror ALWAYS over the shoulder

Only when I shave or trim my nose hair, neither of which I do whilst on the bike. ;)

Many years ago I went to Teeside Polytechnic to study mathematical & computer science. It wasn't a complete failure because I attended an RAC/AUC motorcycle training scheme and where they taught me to use hand signals and look over my shoulder.

Yep got one on both road bikes. Useful for seeing what's going on behind you when a full turn would be shall we say fraught with danger

No, but I can see how they could be useful in some circumstances.

And apparently nobody on a bike has a bad neck!
I have a bad neck, but it'd need to be really quite bad to stop me looking behind, probably enough that I'd be on a recumbent tricycle and need a mirror anyway, to see around the seat back.

The only time I feel like a mirror would be useful to me on an upright is when I'm guiding group rides and wanting to count that everyone's still following, but the tail-ender ought to send a message forwards if there's a split or problem anyway. It might be more useful on the road bike than the others (roadster, hybrid, MTB...) because the more leant-forwards position and twitchier steering reduce how long I can look back stably.

No, I have a working neck!
So have I. But filtering down the middle of the South Circular in a morning rush hour I find it better to keep watching the cars in front for idiots that may decide to switch lanes suddenly than keep swivelling around to check for motor bikes following me. Now I could just ignore the bikes and let them wait, I'd be perfectly within my rights after all but a mirror allows me to check for them and let them past making their day a little happier.
