Do any of you usual suspects have any constructive comments on the topic of my OP? I thought not.

Ignoring all the rest of that post's crap, what makes you pose this question in the OP?...

...What is it with young gurls out on the town on a friday night who feel the need to drink too much and make a show of themselves? They also potentially put their safety at risk as well as their long term health if they do it on a regular basis. Do they drink more and more frequently than the boys?

Do you think that gurls (sic? or sick?) drink more booze and more frequently than young chaps? Have you based your analysis on anecdotal evidence whilst running or is there more to it?

I think we should be told.

Also what's with the spelling of girl?

I hope it's not number 4 on the list of this urban dictionary...

Plus, the bit of your OP that rich quoted:

It's misogynistic and misandrystic.

It's paints women in one light and paints men in another light. Both negative and reductive for both sexes.

Is this your definition of rape?

Depends on exactly what you consider consent?

My wife works i a University and a number of young girls come in for the morning after pill, just in case as they can't remember whether they had sex or not!

Is that consensual?

The debate is not going to be clear cut as often what seems like a good idea at 3 am with a belly full of alcohol may not seem to have been such when you you have woken up at 9am in bed with someone.

.. and that is not being sexist either, many blokes have regretted having sex in exactly the same circumstances with a partner.

This is nothing new.

I was drinking when I was 12/13 and that was way back when, raiding my best friends parents drinks cabinet and when they cottoned on to that, MD 20/20 round the back of the co-op and white lightening on the golf course!

I think it's because I was a dumbass who thought it an act of rebellion and also because where I lived there was bugger all else to do.

I was the best friend who lived in a pub... One HUGE drink cabinet for us all to choose from

And Oh Boy, do I remember White Lightening!!

Ah, that awkward moment when you'd rather chew your own arm off than wake them as you run for the hills!

As a point of interest, us guys have within our blood stream enzymes which break down any oestrogen and progesterone which might get into our blood stream, it also has the effect of breaking down alcohol. Thus when the girls get to drink head to head with us guys, they don’t stand a chance, because our bodies break the alcohol down so much quicker.

Having come into this thread rather late, I find Cranks post to be one of concern for the state so many girls let themselves get into through excessive drink.

And they do leave themselves “wide open” to be used and abused, and young men full of Booze will think it Christmas all over again. It a fact of life which seems to be getting worse, Cranks concerns should be all our concerns.

I'll pass this paragraph on to the women I know that can drink men under the table. Having read it it will educate their endocrine systems to behave in a more gender specific manner and give the fellers a fighting chance in the drink offs.

I'll use your reply as I find you the most argumentative, facile and sanctimonious of the ususal suspects, but I direct this post not only at you but to the wider clique of usual suspects. In case you hadn't noticed there are others who read and post on this forum, people who have something constructive to write. They make a valuable contribution whether I happen to agree with them or not. The squabbling had started well before I returned to this thread. The usual suspects had rounded on some one like a pack of hyenas not a particularly pleasant sight unless you enjoy watching the pack mentality of such animals tear their prey to pieces. The point is the clique of usual suspects make this so not a very nice forum. You think you own the forum well perhaps you do as the guy who runs it seems to allow some of you full rein to be as abnoxious as you like to others. In the long run it's the forum's loss as people don't stay or people don't post as they just can't stand the bickering, squabbling and bullying they see. So the ball is on your court "usual suspects". If you want a better forum then start behaving better towards each other and people outside your clique.

I wholeheartedly agree with this statement which is why I only drop in occasionally to see if the standard has improved. I asked a basic question once and wouldn't dare to ask anything again because of the 'mob mentality' that answered it but 'pack of hyenas' describes it more accurately.
I have never understood why some people have been banned yet others are allowed to remain to spew forth a malicious diatribe and then claim that the recipient is at fault for taking offence.

The 'usual suspects' just for a collective name have actually created a paradox by mixing the OP and Globalti's post. Crankarm was raising the point of the safety of the women and societys' acceptance of firstly women drinking to excess so openly & secondly with so little respect for themselves. Globalti quoted a hypothetical question raised as a result of an actual situation.
Two drunken women encounter a group of 5 males (drunk or sober it matters not) how safe are they? One man (drunk/sober) encounters 5 very drunk females (who in the real scenario are described as 'very forward ..... & aggressive) he is the one who is likely to be the victim of sexual assault unless he has gone equipped with a means to subdue a number of people.

Rape victims are not exclusively female - the majority are as is the case in other 'dominance/power/controlling' crimes which are all heinous and which society still tries to ignore. Before you all tear this reply to pieces which seems your sole purpose responding to anything, ask yourselves one question "How qualified am I to comment on this' because without 1st hand experience your opinion is worthless and it's something you should maybe bear in mind before writing a vitriolic reply just to appear superior and witty.

I had a schoolmate whose father was a Scottish and Newcastle Breweries (RIP) brewery rep. I called round on New Years Eve in the early-ish seventies and had never seen so much alcohol in one place - it certainly rivalled what I saw in the cellar of the pub that used to be opposite the house where I lived. There were quite a few schoolmates present and we took it upon ourselves to drink the house dry.....

I didn't find the remainder of Jan 1st to be pleasant when I regained consciousness. January 2nd, 3rd and 4th weren't much better.

My subsequent total aversion to alcohol lasted six months before I made a full recovery.
