I haven't been impressed with Doctor Who since it came back. I find it stupid and childish. It feels like they now have a huge budget so story be damned. I've watched this last series because I like Peter Capaldi and as good as he is as the Doctor the scripts haven't been very good.

This afternoon I decided to watch Patrick Troughton in Tomb Of The Cybermen on Drama and thoroughly enjoyed it! It's a little before my time (I started watching just after Tom Baker took over) but it was fun. I watched The Brain Of Morbius recently too (with Tom Baker) and really enjoyed that too. I should probably face it, the new Doctor Who isn't for me.

I've always loved Dr Who.
This current series I have watched 3 episodes. I have them on TiVo but have little inclination to view them.
My favourite 'older' doctor was Tom Baker and David Tennant was my favourite of the newer series.
But I agree that the plot line has got very strange indeed!

I've been thinking the same thing, so I'm recording the old ones just to check they are as good as I remember. My era was from the end of Tom Baker onwards.

I keep saying I won't watch it then they go and make a good episode so I carry on. Case in point, Dark Water (1st November) was ok but part 2 this week was just ridiculous. It's like they wanted to make an action film but didn't know how and just stuck everything they could think of in there.

I must admit, I have made allowances for the fact the the BBC had about 50p (10/- in the money of the time) to spend on each episode but I still find them entertaining regardless.

I loved Dr Who as a kid, came in at the end of Pertwee. Loved the show and devoured the Target books and Terry Nation Dalek annuals (didn't have video in my day!). Enjoyed most of the new era and love Capaldi but there haven't been any classics (Don't Blink!) for him yet (but I'm two behind on the sky+).
Watched one of my favourites, Pyramids of Mars (Tom Baker) with my son recently, and we both enjoyed it. However as time went on,and especially towards Davidson/McCoy there was a lot of (let's be kind) filler. And let's not even mention Cybermen with sprayed silver cricket gloves!

I'm a bit odd in that Doctor Who didn't scare me. Horror films don't scare me either. I loved the Daleks and they're one of the reason I still end up watching the new Doctor Who. Genesis Of The Daleks is my all time favourite story (Tom Baker again). I've seen it dozens of times.

Even though some of the later stories got stupid I do remember a Colin Baker Dalek story that was stupid (Alexei Sayle) but was still quite dark and good. I didn't much like the Sylvester McCoy stories but his Dalek one wasn't too bad. They even managed to make the Dalek flying up stairs intentionally funny, a bit anyway.

I am tickled that I watch Dr Who at my age, but it is sci Fi.

I wish they stop with all the judgemental stuff though. I don't care what the companions think of the Time Lord.

My kids aren't keen on it. Too many cartoons on demand these days!

Old Dr Who serials were also being shown on CBS's horror channel on free sat. I'm not sure if they're still running.

They might make an appearance on one of the channel 5 network now that CBS's owner's empire bought them.

I've always loved Dr Who. I've watched from William Hartnell on. Christopher Eccleston seemed a bit camp but I was just glad it had come back and with such a big budget show. I listen to it on Radio 4 Extra.
I miss Torchwood. It was Dr Who for after the watershed. I even looked in at the Sarah Jane Mysteries on CBBC when no-one was looking. It's all Sci-Fi after all.
