They are not being paid. The money goes to the charity. If the money fubds their trip, that is a different matter.
The money funds the trips. Like that couple doing the around the world ride, are they paying for everything out of own pocket?

That's a very good point, well made!...
IMO their charity effort gives them no special rights, but probably does have responsibilities they chose to ignore and haven't helped their cause.

Doing an activity "for charity" is weird. Do an activity if you like. Give to charity if you can. No need to link those activities nor to publicise your involvement in either.
And certainly don't be a dick about it.

<snort> That really made me laugh!IMHO doing something for charity should involve a high level of discomfort and effort. Part of that would fall under queuing. If someone was raising money via a sponsored queue, but skipped the queue, you'd think them lazy. See also sponsored skydive - yes a good cause but it would only be notably courageous if you had a real phobia of heights
No, but the charity donations are not funding it, those are going to the charity. The costs of the trip are coming from sponsorship by a few brands.

Would those "sponsoring" companies/brands not have been happy to have their names publcised and for the money to go to charity? No, but the charity donations are not funding it, those are going to the charity. The costs of the trip are coming from sponsorship by a few brands.
Exactly so they are not funding their around the world trip are they.
Difficult to be sure, but they have been getting sponsorship because of their Youtube channel generally, so possibly.<fantasy ethical speculation question:> Would they get the sponsors, if the sponsors did not anticipate some kudos from the charidee work??

In the same way you do not fund your own holidays, the company you work for does.
I don't work.
