He's onto a winner here. If he sees a dog chuck the sausage, problem solved If no dog, he can use the sausages as sort of aero bars and adopt a really fast tuck position. They have probably retained some residual heat as well so they can keep his hands warm for a while. At the end of the ride he can eat the sausages. It wouldn't work for me though. If I tried to do a 25TT with sausage aero bars they wouldn't last more than a few miles

If you had a sausage hopper mounted over the rear wheel, as far back as possible (on your rear mudguard if you have one) and a sausage release mechanism operated from the handlebars, you could arrange it so that the sausage makes contact with the rear tyre as it is released and is catapulted into the air, flying back from your direction of travel.

Is that like a spacehopper, just a bit more cylindrically shaped?

Calling all sausage dogs …………..

What do you plan to give them for a desert?

Are doggy bags allowed?

The image of you riding along frantically trying to get your sausage out of your trousers ………………

This has made my day as I was sooooo bored.

I cycle a 5 mile route to work every day which takes me through a park. I am sick and tired of being chased by dogs in the park. Most dogs don't chase me they just run right out into my path. It's impossible to see them when it's dark. I wrote to my local council to see what they could do, but they declined my request to ban all dogs from the park.
So I came up with my own idea. I went to sainsbury's supermarket and got myself a pack of sainsbury's 'basics 20 pork sausages' I cook 2 sausages before I set off work in the morning. When I see a dog in the park I throw a sausage in it's direction, so far it has worked every time, but this morning when I tried this , I found I couldn't get the sausage out of my pocket quick enough and the dog chased me all the way to the park gates. The solution was simple. I removed my front bike lights and put the 2 sausages in the brackets that hold the lights. Now I can grab a sausage much quicker with the added benefit of the dog Probably not being able to see me coming in the dark. I've had only 3 near misses with people jogging because they could not see me either, but they should not be jogging in the park in the first place.
