Hiring another car for 5 days only cost £111 ( equivalent size to a Ford Focus) . I can live with that.

Err. if you are in the same car as the dog travelling to and from Devon and presumably the odd trip out here and there, won't you and your clothes smell of dog? Even if the dog doesn't live in where ever you are staying.

I'd leave them both at home, simple,I assume many of you on here have dogs and have no hesitation in having your dog in your car.
Well, we are going to Devon soon, with my step daughter and her dog. My policy is that I refuse to have a dog in my car, ( smell, hair )so I have resorted to hiring a car for a few days to keep every one happy. By the way, her dog is a Cocker Spaniel. Apparently, they don't shed hairs.
