Good luck! I'll be starting at 7:48 so an early start. At least the forecast seems to be getting better day by day.

I will be setting off at 7:41 on the Gran Fondo. Bricking it at the moment. Weather looks a little dodgy too.

Does anyone know what the feed stations are like? I am puzzling over what food to take on the bike with me from the start

Not sure about 'not too wet' but was a good ride. Good sign posts, food stops could have done with a bit more variety but in all was good.

I should have drank more though, as the last 30km was on the edge of bonking.

It was a good event. My friend and I enjoyed it and thought it was very well organised. The rain from 7am followed us through to the second feed station so ended up riding with soaking socks and shoes for the whole ride. Apart from that it was great. I took some photos of the feed stations for reference of anyone who wants to do the ride in years to come.

Another old thread revival in the sportive section....

I'm got talked into doing this....

Entered for the Gran Fondo as that's what my friends had entered but I'm going to do the Medio instead - i think that will be more enjoyable and less of a chore. 2 of our party were entered for the Fred Whitton as well, but one had a nasty appendicitis emergency just before it so only 1 did it! I generously suggested I would accompany the appendix-less one on the Medio as she thought the Gran might be pushing it a bit only a few weeks on from surgery!

Some friends of mine are on this: sadly, it's well beyond my capability now.

A few years ago, possibly, but that time has passed...

I did the Medio , lots of the climbs are long but steadish at a steady gradient of 5% , but anything with Devil in it's name tends to be steep but shorter . Just go easy early on and you will be fine
