But this "snow" looks more like traditional Manchester December sleet here.
The snowflake/raindrop symbol indicates sleet, so the forecast is spot on!

When i lived in the north of Scotland and spent all of my time, in and out of work, climbing high snow covered mountains and ice climbing on frozen waterfalls, I loved the winter snow ....
Now i live in Rotherham and hate it !!!

We hardly get any snow here these days but I remember 45 years ago having trouble getting out of town to meet people from the boat 20 miles away as I lived at sea level then. The gritting lorry was also stuck and we had to grit the hill manually from the gravel heaps before it got out. No salt was used then either, just grit which gave a good surface.
We are protected by the North Atlantic Drift as the Gulf Stream itself does not in fact come near.

Will the country grind to a halt with 5mm of snow now those that still have jobs are all working from home?
