So many e-bikers who cheat and claim they were riding pedal bikes. Why do people cheat?

Why do people cheat?

Because they have small winkies/were bullied at school/are small men trying to prove how big they are (delete to suit)

In any case, while it's a deliberate misrepresentation it can hardly be 'cheating' when it isn't an actual competition.

In truth the only person these individuals are cheating is themselves. My one golden rule in relation to any form of exercise, sporting "achievement" or similar is to be honest with myself and others. Cheat once and one will do it again. That's human nature.

Whoa. I use Strava legitimately. It gives me a simple, reliable history of my activity. It's useful in a number of ways.

Would you care to explain why this is pathetic? Would you include people who use a spreadsheet or keep a ride diary as pathetic?

I never used Strava. I'm pathetic in my own way. When you're pathetic, you don't have to compete with anyone.

I did a trial period with Strava last year and spotted loads of peculiar anomalies. I started a thread on here about it and apparently it's way more common than I even realised. I was coming across KOM's that were ridiculous for the stretch of road they came from.

Although it was quite eye opening it didn't really bother me. The Strava thing quickly ran it's course and I got bored with it anyway. I don't go on it anymore now.
