Last time I checked, they were removing suspected ebike rides from self-propelled bike ride leaderboards, but they were doing nothing about ebike rides where the motor is clearly giving assistance above the legal limits of the country eg. KOM up a ~1.25 mile ~4% average hill at ~20mph average in UK on an ebike that weighs at least ~15kg but more likely 25Kg+.

You'd have to ask Strava about the veracity of that claim, but its pretty clear a speed limited legal ebike wont be blasting though any segments at 40+.

Perhaps that's what Strava is working on, now. Removing ridiculous performance claims.

I've accidentally come in the top 10 of climbs on Strava. I dont record my outdoor rides anymore and deleted those rides (only a couple) that did appear

I got home once and found I was 15th on a specific segment

did the same ride again the next day after working out where the start and finish points where and got to 3rd

It WAS logged as an ebike ride but that was pretty much irrelevant because I was doing well over the cutoff speed the whole way - mostly over 20 mph
so basically I was just riding a heavy bike with flat bars rather than a lightweight road bike with drops and all that



I do wonder it the gale force tail wind was a factor!!!
AND - in that place the prevailing wind is always a head wind - so this was very unusual


which brings me to the point

segment times are totally pointless if they are done in different conditions
never mind different bikes
