My 531 Zeus 2000's frame had been amateurishly hand-painted white just like that (ostensibly to match an oddly-shaped white carbon fork). Had it re-sprayed by Bob Jackson in Saronni red, mercifully.

Mind you, wouldn't spend £120 on a paintjob for the Brompton. Maybe the £50-70 my local powder coaters charge...

Setup looks all over the place and that rear guard is making my eyes bleed, but it does look nice otherwise - love the internally lugged fork

Agreed. Also nice to confirm that it wasn't just my BJ re-spray (mentioned above) that was so delicate/fine. Can't believe how easily it chips !

Don't know enough about this Claud Butler bike - the front derailleur boss (on the down tube) & state of paint may indicate an older frame.
