No idea what this mystery (531 respray decal?) road bike is - with a chromed fork crown & top eyes that remind a bit of Roberts or some Raleighs.
Don't recognise the lugset, dropouts, or the braze-ons on the underside of the top/seat tube lug, & on the driveside seat stay.

The chrome fork top is Rudge, not sure about the rest.

The fork capping is definitely a Rudge thing but are they original to the frame?
And as @midlife says that braze on by the seat post is very similar to one used for a guide wheel on a sturmey archer hubbed bike like the Raleigh/Rudge lenton/pathfinders have

Thanks for the Rudge & braze on info - appreciated. The frame did seem older than the Suntour gearing.
Read a bit more later about Rudge and saw framesets with the same fork crown, and braze ons. The Sturmey Archer guide pulley is photographed, as are the seat stays - with butterfly bolts/ mudguard attachments.
