Ebay courier help

I've got my beady eye on a Ebay item that is collection only - or arrange own courier....

its too far to collect, so can anyone recommend a courier and how much do they cost?

If it's in Ireland, or indeed if you're in Ireland but the bikes here on the mainland beware, as soon as a package has to cross water couriers get giddy with their prices, even though NI is part of the UK, couriers don't give a monkeys.

Parcel2Go are one of the worst for this IME. Their office is round the corner from where I work and I know one of the guys, but they've still been mega expensive in the above circumstances.

Of course, if you're mainland and the bike is mainland then ignore the above

Funny how we don't tend to do forum relays for delivering stuff. A Land Rover forum I frequent do it all the time.

My advice: tell your buyer to check the packaging very carefully for damage and if the corurier won't wait, to sign for the goods "not inspected for damage"

.....not that that makes any difference anyway as the courier co. will still wriggle out of their responsibilities.

Ask the seller to drop it at their LBS, having first asked the LBS in question to box it and send it ParcelForce...
