Elrctric rotary tooth brushes.....so many choices.

My dentist has recommended a rotary tooth brush as I have a build up of plaque.
OralB have a good reputation but prices go from £20ish to £50ish.
While shopping in Home bargains they were selling brand X for £2.50 .....so I took a punt on it.
Just tried it and was suitably impressed though tbf I cant compare it.
I dont think the head is replaceable but for that price !

I've had a few over the years. They all seem to pack up eventually... in my experience just after buying a new pack of heads.

I was skeptical for ages about using an electric toothbrush, thinking it was a gimmick, but all I can say is give it a try. The difference is noticeable. Braun/Oral B sometimes are sold under other brand names and from time to time there are reductions or deals. I've had one for at least 10 years and though the battery life was originally a week, then went down to 3 days, it's still going. I even bought a replacement thinking the battery was about to die but it's still in the box awaiting the call. Original replacement heads are good but Molarclean are just as good and much cheaper. You can get really cheap heads but they don't last.

If Brand X works to see if you get on with an electric brush that's fine but you will probably want a rechargeable one eventually. A decent rotary one shouldn't cost much though if you want an ultrasonic one you could spend an unfeasible amount.

I've used various Oral B electric toothbrushes for years, current is an iO2 I think. Dentist and hygienist always say brushing is very good...flossing not so much but I can't blame the brush, that's on me!

All I can say is buy a decent unit, but a lower model.
Nobody needs BT or apps in a toothbrush.

I use a rechargeable Philips Sonicare and interdental brushes.
My dentist is impressed.

How to use an electric toothbrush!

I had been thinking recently that my Oral B has not been getting my teeth as clean as the hygienist does. My response was to press harder and scrub the head up and down like a conventional toothbrush. No joy!

Yesterday, this video popped up on YouTube...



I followed the instructions last night and... wow, squeaky clean teeth!

Been using Oral-B for around 30 years now. Started off with rechargeable type, but now prefer the cheap version with disposable AA batteries - decent ones last for ages. New heads I get off a well known auction site - no problems

I got an ultrasonic about 3 years ago and it's a game changer. £14 on Amazon. They usually last 2 or 3 years at least. I wouldn't buy a branded one, as I've used a Braun previously and it's just the same thing with a huge price tag
