There is greatness and then there is Morricone

The theme from the mission and Once Upon A Time In The West are my favourites both posted above so I will post this by an amzing talent she was only 14 when she won the contest singing this. An amazing singer I have seen her live in Prague whilst visiting the inlaws.

MrsD and myself have just had a good cry watching that.
One of the best westerns ever.

The Mission theme music combined with the movie soundtrack is one of the best surround sound jungle experiences short of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

That was astonishing, what an incredible voice.
I’m nearly blubbing here.

edited to add: There was a recent thread on great movie moments where Morricone’s music came up and I posted this reference (see quote below) to Susanna Rigacci singing L’estasi dell’oro for Ennio Morricone. I would love to hear Ms Janeckova perform this.

Morricone has to be the best score writer ever.

In the second half of that clip, the soprano performing L'estasi dell'oro was missing a certain something in her voice, although she was very good. Apart from the original by Edda Dell'Orso, the best version I have ever heard was by the stunning Susanna Rigacci. In this clip she is conducted by Morricone himself.

It gives me goosebumps every time.

A true great. I posted my favourite of his, in the Friday Night Music thread, for film scores, only a few weeks back.

Also watched his concert from Venice (St Mark’s Square) to occupy myself one evening, during Lockdown. Well worth watching
