Every little Canadian town we have visited has a bank of at least 10 Tesla chargers. Although the motoring public drive extra large 4x4s the EV charging points are there already. Tesla doing the basics of chargers first EV sales second.

Except they’re not elevated above in terms of sales and profit. Other car makers are selling more EVs. And the current trajectory for Tesla is down whereas for many others it is up.

But that isn't because the cars or the charging network is bad. That's purely about their association with Elon Musk. If they want to reverse their fortune they urgently need to jettison him.

Not sure it’s only that. China EVs are overtaking Tesla in a huge Asian market. I doubt they care about musk and it’s probably more to do with Tesla’s usp being eroded and nationalism in a trade war.

It’s not about profit in isolation, it’s about trajectory to profit then sustaining this with growth in future years.

Geely isn't profitable yet, but losses are narrowing.

The big brands like Ford, VW can't make an EV without big losses.

Id expect Tesla to become the equivalent of apple V Android (Chinese car makers) in the next few years. Still a big player not as big as China

Ev sales grew double digits last year. It’s a growing market. Profiabikity will be coming to most of the big players in the next few years. Multibillion pound companies have to play the long game.
