Are you listening to what I am saying? That's if you can get a parking space. Car drivers will not take any notice of a if it's a charging lamp post or what ever. Hence the reason we will be going down the hybrid route rather then full leccy. That will never happen.
Sadly I agree. Much of the kerbside space is already filled with cars and again sadly, they possibly wouldn't give a damn if they blocked a potential charging opportunity and almost certainly if they were charging themselves, wouldn't move off until they next used the car.
There are 150 houses in my street, NONE have a drive, a very very few could risk an extension lead across the path. (One opposite does but only perhaps 20 or 30 of the 150 could realistically try it)
Some of those houses are HMOs so in some cases, more than one car a household, some households have 2 cars anyway.
Again and again, if people have a drive and even better solar panels, fantastic, I'd be cockahoop, you'd save a fortune.
I have no 'hatred' for EVs, genuinely considered one for commuting as I could charge at work..but in thousands and thousands of households in the estates where I live...its going to be a constant battle to charge.an EV
