Exactly, it's unlikely an HGV driver will go "sod the M25 - I'm going to cut across central London". If you are driving an HGV in London it's because that's where you are delivering to.

Do you really believe that. We have have several Evs in the family. My wife's Model 3 has only had 4 sets of tyres in 110k miles, this car has over 300hp

Our Nissan leaf, goes through tyres around 24k miles.
With over 250,000 miles in Evs. They don't use tyres any quicker than ICE vehicles
