Was £69.99 now £30 Nope where £48 a month ago. Put price up. In comments when asked why give a cost of manufacturers etc. Lying SOBs. It was so you could sucker us and say a massive saving

I think they may lose my custom. Don’t lie. You’ll get found out

Aren't they supposed to state the period during which the higher price was being charged?

To be fair, that's not what it says.

"RRP: £69.99 Save 57%"

I think people should ignore the sale mark down, if they can. If they are good value at £30, then great. If they aren't, then it really doesn't matter what the discount is.

Agree but look at price question. Rubbish about going up due to manufacturing costs. Obvious rubbish. That’s my gripe

Usual in retail. If you don't like the deal or retailer, go elsewhere. £30 seems a very good price regardless
I agree. £30 good price But. Why the need to put up from 48 to 69 Would still have been a good deal from 48.

We are on almost on same page.

I'll leave this here:
http://earlyretirementextreme.com/read-this-rant-and-save-50-70.html

All too often shoppers are baited with “savings.” Sometimes these so-called savings are even “instant,” whatever that means. I’m guessing it means not having to navigate the hell of redeeming rebates? Rebates belong right up there with gift cards as horrible consumer finance inventions, but I digress. Such offers of “savings” concern me, so let me get up on my soapbox. BTW I own several soapboxes, custom-made to handle extended use....

...Apparently the idea is that these savings are supposed to make us feel like the savvy shoppers we aren’t. “Look honey, I just saved $100 on XXX,” or, “Come into store YYY and save 50% on ZZZ,” to which I always feel compelled to say, “But stay OUT of store YYY and save 100%.” Sometimes I wish I had my own radio show....

...It is my sincere wish that companies would stop trying to deceive me about how much I save when I buy something, when the item is on perpetual sale at a price comparable to other stores.

News flash, savings on RRP are not necessarily savings at all, because guess who sets it.... not some regulated central authority, the manufacturer.

This is normal practice, they charge various prices to capture all sections of the market.

I only buy new gear when it is half price or less normally, some people are the opposite and pay a much higher price for the latest and greatest.

The number of "fake" sales by retailers with the up to 70% off nonsense is getting out of hand.

I did see those on sale at 69 quid recently. I laughed as I paid about 30 at least a year ago.

Nice and warm, crap pad, but sufficient for my 5 mile commute
