the Bibliotheque Saint-Genevieve. It's an institute of learning and a lesson in architecture, construction, the relevance or ornament, the value of ceremony all at once - and a hymn to nature.

the bronze paterae (the roundy bits) draw attention to the radical (for then) insertion of a cast iron frame in to a stone building.

Excellent. I've heard stories of those being so stable that the crew could bail out thinking they were out of fuel, and it just flew on and glided to land itself.
