the bronze paterae (the roundy bits) draw attention to the radical (for then) insertion of a cast iron frame in to a stone building.

There's a refurbished one of these flying between Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar. All polished aluminium - gorgeous.

Excellent. I've heard stories of those being so stable that the crew could bail out thinking they were out of fuel, and it just flew on and glided to land itself.
